Family in Seattle

This past weekend by parents joined Macy in her visit to Jesse and I! Macy came home with us last weekend and stayed all week. My parents drove up on Friday evening and stayed till Monday. We truly enjoyed all of them being here! It was the first time they had seen where we live and our apartment. We had a great time showing them around and visiting with them.

Saturday, we drove into downtown Seattle to walk around Pikes Place.

Although Pikes Place is not my favorite because of this ^ exact reason, my family enjoyed it so it was worth fighting the crowd!

They have been to Seattle before and couldn't be here again without going to Piroshky Piroshky bakery. I have to say, though they were all wonderful, the savory smoked motzerella and mushroom & the smoked salmon pate were my favorites!

This is my favorite part of pikes! Now that I live here, I LOVE that I can get huge beautiful flowers for $5-10.

We couldn't pass the famed gum wall without a picture of course! :)

After strolling around Pikes place we went down to the waterfront and walked the shops.

We stopped at Ivar's Seafood Restaurant for lunch. Their chowder is to die for; SO delicious!

While sitting on the patio next to the ocean a bunch of pirates walked in and put on a show for us. Completely unexpected but totally awesome.

On our way back home we stopped at Golden Gardens Park to show them a beach near our new home.

That's my baby sister

Sunday we went to a new church and then my mom and dad took us out to a lunch of my choice for my birthday that was coming up that week. I'm not going to be able to make it home so our family tradition of mom & dad buying dinner had to happen a little different this year. The things you have to sacrifice and change as you grow up... Due to the lovely rain, we all hung out at our place watching movies the rest of the day.

For my birthday, my parents took me shopping at Hobby Lobby and bought me stuff to help decorate my new little home

Sadly we said our goodbyes after that and they headed back home.

One Month

Dear marriage:
I can’t believe you’ve been with us for one whole month now. Nothing is better. I already love being a wife. I love having a husband and partner and best friend. I love going grocery shopping together. I love being together just the two of us in our new city. I love our movie nights. I love our date nights. I love our search for the best sushi in town. I love sampling every frozen yogurt flavor before picking one. I love your singing in the shower. I love doing everything together. I love our love. And I love that it’s permanent.

one month of this marriage adventure down.
one month of waking up next to my best friend.
one month of being mr. & mrs.
one month of starting our life & moving away together.
in just our first month of marriage we have:
  • honeymooned in Maui
  • packed up and moved to Seattle
  • started working at Boeing
I can’t wait for all of the minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years ahead together.
I love that our wedding was on the twentieth of June, so that each time the twentieth rolls around each month, it's a reminder of our love and it’s one more month together!
I love you Jesse!

A beautiful 4th of July spent with the family
