Jesse and I had a couple days before we started work after getting into Cooper Landing on June 17th so we decided to take a day to ourselves and hike. Get our legs moving after sitting in the car for 60+ hours!
Jesse and I had a couple days before we started work after getting into Cooper Landing on June 17th so we decided to take a day to ourselves and hike. Get our legs moving after sitting in the car for 60+ hours!
The views are absolutely amazing, breathtaking, beautiful, incredible; Something I have never seen with my own two eyes in real life before. It literally looks like you are staring at one big painting.
And yes momma, I did have my bear bells on that you made me;) And I made Jesse wear some too! Ha... I thought it was silly at first but as we began to get into a very thin trail with bushes on either side of us, my heart began pounding a little faster and I then decided they weren't loud enough just on my wrists so I took them off and began shaking them! :p
The first view point we came to on the trail. I thought this was beautiful till I got to the top.
That's not just a wall, but the trail! We were practically rock climbing some of this stuff. Locals around here run this and consider it to be the "easy" mountain around here. Meanwhile I huffed and puffed my butt up the "little" mountain!
I didn't think it was possible after seeing the first view point but the farther up the mountain we got, the more beautiful the views became.
The last few hills/walls to climb before getting to the top :)
We made it!!!!
Heading back down.. And all I could think was, "this mountain puts Mt. Pisgah to shame!" Haha
A PERFECT way to start out day one in Alaska this summer ♥
Beautiful!!! Climb that a couple times a week and you will be able to run marathons when you get home! Oh and FYI a .45 ACP pistol makes way more noise than bear bells!
ReplyDeleteLol if I had a gun here with me I would hike trails all the time with much less worry. We couldn't bring them across the Canadian boarder though..
