THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE thus far..
Sunday, December 14th, I woke up to Jesse roaming through
my room at my parents’ house looking for something. It was still dark outside
and anyone who knows me, knows I am NOT a morning person so all I could manage
to say was "What are you looking for?" in a mumble and jumble of some
sort of noise. He looked at me and then went on with what he was doing
pretending he didn't hear me. I lifted myself up and said again "Jesse,
what in the world are you doing? What time is it?" He replied clearly irritated
"Where are your keys?" I replied "I don't
know." I had no idea and it didn't help that my room was a
mess. "Are you leaving?" He said "No." He found them right
after asking then looked at me and said "Go to sleep. I wasn't here."
And left.
In my half asleep confusion, I laid back down wondering
what he was up to. Then began to drift off to sleep till I heard my car start
up and take off. I tried to go back to sleep but was pretty awake at this point
so I went out to the living room where my parents were at and hung out with
them wondering where Jesse had gone (it was not even 6:00AM). When my dad asked me where he went, I
replied, "I don't know but he better be bringing back coffee." ;)
When he came back he did not have coffee.
Later that morning we all went to church. During the church
service Jesse was literally falling asleep sitting up and I couldn't figure out
why he was so tired. He just told me he didn't sleep very well. Little did I
know at the time, he didn't sleep at all.
After church Jesse asked if I wanted to go get lunch with
him and began rushing me out of the building. I hadn't talked to my parents yet
to let them know we were leaving and I kept insisting to Jesse that I do so. Yet with his arm around me, he kept pushing me toward the door telling me it
would be fine. Macy (my baby sister) came running up to me as we got closer to the door and
asked if she could go with. At the same time, I said "yes" and Jesse
said "no". Which was very unlike him. I looked at him like "what
is wrong with you" and walked back toward the sanctuary where my dad was
talking with a friend. My dad also told Macy "no" when she asked, which only added to my confusion. I just remember thinking the boys are clearly in a bad
mood.
Jesse took me to lunch at Cafe Yumm, my favorite place in
Eugene. After eating he took me to get a pedicure at the mall. At this point I
began to get suspicious as to what he was up to but he just kept saying
"I'm just loving on you today and showing you how much I appreciate
you".
After OUR pedicures (yes, he got one with me, which is
where most of the suspicion came from) we got in the car to go home, or so I
thought, and he asked if I wanted to go on a mini road trip. He said,
"Like we always do. It's kind of our thing and it's a sunny day so let’s
just drive." Of course I agreed to it because that is one of our favorite
things to do and I had been wanting to head up the McKenzie River while we were
in town anyway.
We drove up the McKenzie Highway for
about 75 miles before Jesse pulled off into Clear Lake. This day was so sunny
and beautiful however, it was still December in Oregon so... It was FREEZING. I
got out of the car, walked to the end of the dock, took a photo and ran back to
the car. This whole time Jesse is physically there with me but so not there at
the same time. He kept looking around and when I got back to the car said,
"You stay here, I'm going to go find a bathroom." Then he walked in a
different direction then the lodge. I was defiantly wondering if the question
was about to be popped! I was picturing how he would do it, maybe he would walk
me to the end of the dock and ask. Maybe he would take me on a hike, but it was
so cold I couldn't imagine that. Then he came back to the car, got in and said
"Okay, let’s go." I laughed at myself and thought, never mind.
;)
Pulling out of Clear Lake he asked if I wanted to go check
out Sahalie Falls only a couple miles up the road. When we got there he gave me
my puffy jacket, grabbed my hand and we began walking toward the waterfall.
Standing in front of it, we were both jaw dropped at its beauty. We got there
perfect timing. The sun was beaming down on the waterfall making it look like it was
glowing and sparkling. Being that I didn't know we were going to be coming I
did not have my camera so I was trying to get good pictures on my phone.
While taking pictures Jesse said "Hey babe, why don't you come over here.
I think it's a better angle for the photos...” So I did. He positioned me to
take the "best" photo, or so I thought. After taking the photo I
turned around and he was on one knee! Even though I had a suspicion. I did not
expect it right then. I don't think I ever would have known when to expect it
though :) He said a bunch of really cute stuff as I teared up and then I said YES!
♥♥♥
After walking around the waterfall, he then took me to Belknap hot springs and surprised me with my swimsuit. After sitting in the amazing hot springs for a while he ended our perfect day with taking me to a beautiful dinner at The Sushi Station :) :) :)
I am one happy girl to say the least!
