Back to Where it All Began
For Valentines day my love completely surprised me, which is not an easy thing.
I woke up Saturday after sleeping in and it was so sunny and beautiful outside. I made the comment to Jesse, "I wish we lived near the beach!" He said "Well we don't. However, I do have a silly little surprise for you. Pack your bag for one night and lets go." I wasn't sure where we were going but I did as I was told.
An hour later we got in the car and began driving. I knew where he was taking me when we got to the turn off point in Medford and my entire day was made!
Mt. McLoughlin:)
Here we are.
Crescent City,CA.
Back to where it all began for him and I. Little did either of us know at the time.
About two and a half years ago Jesse and I both led a trip to Crescent City through the Outdoor Program at Oregon Tech. It all started Saturday morning when I was supposed to be at the school at 5:45am. I woke up to a phone call from Jesse at 6;15am saying "Good morning sunshine. Are you planning on coming with us?" I could just hear the smile through his voice. With sheer panic, knowing I was super late, I flew out of bed and made it to the school just in time to leave.
Jesse and I hit it off that weekend and we didn't even realize what was happening. We both thought and even told each other that we could be good friends. It wasn't till months later that he finally asked me to be his girlfriend and I accepted it ;)
I never would have guessed, nor thought that a little more than two years later he would get down on one knee in front of me and ask me to spend the rest of my life with him ♥
My fiance starting a fire on the beach for us to lay next to and star gaze♥
Jesse and I thought about sleeping on the beach all night but unfortunately there were signs all up and down the parking lot that said "No overnight parking". We thought about risking it but with the wedding coming up the last thing we need is a ticket ;) Instead we called to book a hotel only to find out that every single room in Crescent City was booked for the night. So we decided to pull a good ol' Alaska Road Trip move and sleep in our car at the rest stop right outside the town :) It might sound a little crazy but outside of the comfort (or non-comfort) of my car, sleeping in the car is truly not that bad for me! I really do enjoy it :)
I woke up the next morning to Jesse letting Buddy out of the car and making me tea with his little backpacking stove. I love that man so much! Just goes to show you can still have the little comforts of home on the road and sleeping in the car ;)
We went out to breakfast and then walked the beach for a couple hours.
I have the most spoiled dog ever!
He kept running up to the waves and when they would hit him, he would act like he had no idea what was about to happen and freak out, bouncing back and running from the waves. Lol. It was the cutest thing ever!
My two favorites♥
We explored a little more of Crescent City than what we have done in the past when we had a bunch of students with us, which was nice.
Sitting on a cliff enjoying the view and sunshine!
This was the best valentines day ever and my last one before becoming a wife! :) :) :)
I couldn't have asked for anything more!
Everything truly does happen for a reason and I for one am so happy my life is where it is.
I cannot wait to see where life takes the future Mr.&Mrs. Marion
♥♥♥♥♥
