Whidbey Island, Washington

Sunday, January 31st, 2016

What better way to end the first month of the new year than by heading out on a spontaneous mini day trip to Whidbey Island.

We had some family friends in town for a wedding. The Rickman family was at our house Friday night for dinner and then they headed up to Rosario where the wedding was that they were attending.

Sunday morning Jesse and I decided to get up and head up their way. The wedding was on Sunday so we went to coffee with Micah and Janette that morning and then explored the island until the evening when they could meet back up with us.

Deception Pass

These pictures couldn't even capture how beautiful this area was and the color of the water reminded me of being in Alaska.

Rosario Beach right next to the Marine Laboratory

After leaving the Rosario area, Jesse and I drove north to Anacortes, a seaside town.

We had brunch at Dad's Diner which I highly recommend to anyone in the area.
They had the best sandwiches.

Cap Sante Park- A great place for a view of Anacortes

Leaving Anacortes, we began making our way back South. Stopping along the way at other beaches and parks.

We were only 20 miles from Clinton, where we met back up with the Rickman family

We all got on the ferry in Clinton and rode it to Mukilteo for dinner and drove back to our house for a movie. While it was a short visit with them, I'm so happy we got to see them and visit!

To have a love like Jack and Rose
Lol! ;)
