My birthday fell on a Saturday this year so of course we had to go somewhere awesome for the weekend!
We ended up camping in Lake Chelan.
We didn't plan it out. We just went so of course all the campgrounds were full when we got there late Friday night.
But that was just fine with us, we prefer to find our own spot to camp away from the crowds.
We pulled into our spot just before midnight.
To welcome my birthday here, we were sitting on the back of the Subaru, star gazing and capturing beautiful astro images!
Waking up like this is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!
Lake Chelan is wine country so when the sun came up we found ourselves surrounded by grape orchards.
First thing first, we hit the road to go find coffee.
After a nice breakfast, we were off to go find us some jet skis
This was the first time either of us had ever been jet skiing and it was awesome!!
After being on the water for a few hours jet skiing, we moved a swimming spot, made lunch and stayed there for a while.
The water was so warm! If I close my eyes, I can pretend I am there again. Can't wait for next summer!
After we got done swimming, we got back to the car and found a huge cloud of smoke.
It turns out there was a forest fire that started while we were there :(
After spending most of the day on the water, we got changed and went wine tasting before dinner
Wine country is so beautiful, we went for a drive through the windy roads to view the area.
We had an amazing dinner at a local restaurant in Chelan.
Ice cream after, of course.
Then back out to our camp spot for some more star gazing
Buddy loves these adventures as much as I do!
Before heading home, we swam in the water & sun-bathed in the sun for a few hours.
I could not have asked for a better birthday weekend.
