Harts Pass & Maple Pass Loop

Hearts Pass.
THE prettiest place in all of Washington.
Fun fact: It is the highest road in WA.

Jesse and I accidentally discovered it last fall.
We were heading out to go camping but all the campgrounds were full.
So we just kept driving, knowing eventually we would be able to camp somewhere.
After that trip, I had plans to go back every single summer that we lived there.

My sister Macy was visiting us and we needed to take her Senior photos.
I knew there would be no better location than this and then we planned to hike Maple pass Loop the next day and get some senior photos on that hike.

This ended up being SUCH a fun trip!

We got there Thursday night.
Macy slept in the back of the Subaru with the dogs and Jesse and I pitched the tent just outside the car.
Funny not funny story....
That night there was a HUGE wind storm! I mean push you over kind of wind.
We all went to bed and I remember being so scared our tent was going to fly away with us in it!
We weren't too far away from a cliff edge.. Maybe 15ft or so.
The tent was pinned down and Jesse reassured me, we would be okay.
HA.
I had such a hard time falling asleep but I must have eventually because next thing I remember is waking up to our tent COLLAPSING on us and partially flipping over.
I thought for sure we were toast.
Jesse found his way out of the tent and re-staked it, along with big rocks around it to help hold it in place.
I basically didn't sleep the rest of the night but we didn't die so that's a plus.

The next morning Macy and I were laughing so hard about it but in the moment, I thought I was about to meet Jesus.

Obviously before I had human babies, my dogs were the models in all my pics ;)

I was 19 weeks pregnant with Sahalie at this time
Little did we know, I was growing a baby girl

Maple Pass Loop Hike
It's safe to say this is one of Jesse & I's top FAVORITE hikes in all of Washington!
This is the second time we hiked it.
The snow made it so fun and pretty in a different way than we saw before.
