Johnny Creek Camping + Icicle Ridge Hike

after the last weekend we had we were so ready for another one like it!
off to eastern washington this time!

buddy and i got the car loaded and we're heading to pick up jesse from work

pretty much all i need for the weekend
books. headlamps. camera. hiking shoes.

he seems to be settling in at camp just fine ;)

the campgrounds were still closed for the season but you were allowed to hike your stuff in
so we parked on the road and hiking everything in

that also meant that it deterred most people who only "car camp" from being there so the campground was almost empty besides us and a few other couples
just the way we like it :)

cheers to setting our souls on fire

laying next to the river chatting with hubby about life

it got pretty cold that night so we bundled him up

dinner

desert.
peach cobbler in the dutch oven
my moms famous recipe

treat please! ;)

i always love waking up next to my hubby, sitting next to the fire early morning, drinking my coffee and listening to the river run

we had to go into leavenworth to get a parking pass for the hike we were doing that day

Location: Icicle ridge

this was a fairly challenging hike but so beautiful and short

the wildflowers were blooming like crazy!
