Hart's Pass

I woke up today and decided it was time for another adventure.
I packed the car, told Jesse we were leaving after work and we did just that!

The "plan" was to camp at Colonial campground near Diablo lake. However, once we got there, it of course, was full. I don't know how many times it'll take us to learn that you have to make reservations to camp anywhere here!
That's just not the way we do it though! So we kept driving and decided we would just figure it out along the way.

We stopped at a visitor center somewhere along the way and got a map so we had some kind of idea which direction we were heading in.

We stopped at an overlook pull off.

Took a little walk..

And got back on the road.

I saw "Hart's pass" on the map a ways out and vaguely remembered reading something about that place when we first moved to Washington. I couldn't remember what it was I had read but we decided to check it out :)

And there was absolutely no level of disappointment in doing so!
Hart's pass was the MOST beautiful place we have been to yet in Washington!!

We drove 10 miles up a super sketchy gravel road with steep cliffs on the driver side (thank God!)

We found a fire lookout when we made it to the top with the most beautiful views overlooking huge snow capped mountain peaks.. tons of them!

As the sun dropped, so did the temperature! Fast! It got pretty darn cold up there so we whipped out the coffee pot

Cheers to adventures!

I'm not sure if I've ever seen a more beautiful sunset in my lifetime.

All set up and ready to stay up most of the night catching the meteor shower!

This photo was taken at about 1am. It was still soooo bright out until 2am when the moon dropped behind the mountains.

THEN the stars really shined bright!

The moon had just fallen behind the mountains here.

I will never forget this night! We stayed up till 3am capturing the most incredible stars along the milky way. God really knew what he was doing when he created this earth!
To think, he placed us here to enjoy all of his creations.. There's no words for it
