haystack rock, canon beach oregon

The first weekend in August, Jesse & I went camping
with our friends near Naselle, WA.
Saturday was their family reunion so after clamming with the family that morning,
Jesse & I went on a little adventure
south to the other little towns in that area
but most of all we wanted to make it to Canon Beach, Oregon!
One of our FAVORITE beaches in Oregon

Our first stop was Long Beach, Washington,
where we walked along the world's longest beach!

There were a group of people in line listening to instructions
how how to fly their kite and it made a cool design in the air!

We continued south into Astoria, Oregon.

Rough life man...

This is the view from the Astoria Column
A 125 foot tall tower overlooking the Columbia River Gorge.

We walked inside and took the winding staircase all the way to the top.

So beautiful!
Next we were off for our final destination- Canon Beach!

We weren't sure how the weather was going to hold up for us but this was perfect!

After playing on the beach for while,
we went into little downtown for some fish & chips
and then headed back to the beach.

We got back to the beach just in time to watch the sunset

I set up my tripod for my first attempt at a timelapse!
It wasn't the worst but I did learn a few things by the end of the night.

As the sun dropped, the stars came out with an incredible view of the milky way

These star photos were my second attempt ever at astrophotography
so I am by no means a professional at it, but I had so much fun and
can't wait to keep learning & practicing more
