Crow Pass Alaska

Sunday July 27th 2014

"What we see depends mainly on what we look for"

On Sunday I drove to Girdwood with Ashley (who also works at Gwins) to hike to the top of Crow Pass. I know I say this about everything I do but it was seriously some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen!

I can't get over this fireweed! It's so pretty.

The start of the trail

The old mine that is along this trail

This waterfall had a little trail that went right up to it so of course I took it and that's all I had in mind until..

I walked around the corner and realized that even though the trail technically ended it was totally possible to rock climb that section;)

It got a little steep... Maybe a bit sketchy at times but I just kept moving up.

I'm pretty sure Ashley decided during this section that she was never going to hike with me again ;)

At the top was this view!

That pattern is the actual trail we were "suppose" to stay on... I prefer to get off the beaten path sometimes though :)

No matter where you turned the views were breath taking!

We had to cross this little creek section

And then this view appeared! Jaw dropping... I KNOW!

A Glacier Lake right next to the little log cabin

All those grassy patches that look like grass were more like swamp... Ashley and I rock hoped across it, both of us soaking our shoes.

Creek crossing again:)

One of my favorite hikes I have done so far in Alaska! I just wish I would have met Ashley sooner. She is a teacher back in Florida so she leaves today to go back home. I could have had an awesome hiking partner :)
