goat peak hike
we stumbled upon this hike on accident and it was so worth it!
we were camping at bumping lake when we went out for a bigger adventure than we realized!
saturday morning we went out in search of a good hike.
i had heard of goat peak and knew it had stunning views from the top
but it was also 10 miles and 3400ft elevation gain and we were looking
for something a bit shorter for that day
so instead we found goat creek trail
we looked it up online and it showed 3 miles roundtrip and relatively flat......
well...
about .5 miles into it, we knew we were not on the trail we had originally thought
the elevation gain we fast and not flat.
about 2.5 miles into it we passed some other hikers coming down and chatted with them.
apparently we ended up on a different goat creek trail than we had looked up and were on our way
up towards goat peak.
we decided to keep going for it and just make it to the top!
these next few pictures were THE steeeeeepest part of the whole hike!
the photos can't even show that we were essentially on a vertical cliff...
my little mountain goat! :)
the views when we got to the top, words can't even describe.
it's moments like these that i really feel alive.
our bodies were not meant to just sit at a desk 8 hours a day.
if you look close, you can see a mountain goat on the other side of the mountain!
heading back down the mountain
it's hard to see but that mountain peak, is the one we were standing on!
though my feet felt like falling off by the time we made it back down;
i would do that again in a heartbeat! ♥
